William S. Hettinger
William S. Hettinger, Ph.D., is president and CEO of The Wyndham Financial Group. Dr. Hettinger has more than twenty years of experience in housing, real estate, and community development. Over the years, he has been a developer of affordable housing; a housing director; a mortgage broker; an asset manager; a portfolio manager; and a consultant to corporations and nonprofits engaged in real estate, community development, and performance evaluation.

Dr. Hettinger possesses a talent for developing effective solutions to complex problems, with a demonstrated track-record of success in program implementation.

He earned a Ph.D. in international development from the University of Southern Mississippi, where his research focused on housing and tourism. He also earned an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a bachelor's degree from the University of Buffalo; and he is a graduate of the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma.

Dr. Hettinger is the author of the book, Living and Working in Paradise: Why Housing is Too Expensive and What Communities Can Do about It (Thames River Publishing 2005) which analyzes the causes of housing market failure and presents the process for developing a vision, strategy, and plan for community housing interventions.
